VEGAN SHOES BY NATIVE SHOES

NATIVE SHOES was founded in Vancouver in 2009, but the story of the brand begans in 2007 when, on the way back from a snowboarding trip, Damien van Zyll de Jong first voiced his idea to start a footwear brand to his friends. He didn’t want to make conventional shoes out of canvas or leather though, and had something completely different in mind.

The first models that NATIVE SHOES produced were completely cast from the material EVA. They were a spectacular success, but van Zyll de Jong didn’t rest on his laurels and followed up with a number of other models that featured an upper material made from various microfibres. Regardless of whether they were slip-on sneakers or lace-up boots however, the footwear was instantly recognisable thanks to the brand’s distinctive style.

In terms of sustainability, NATIVE SHOES is also dedicated to innovation. The synthetic materials used are free from phthalate and BPA and don’t contain formaldehyde, while recycled materials are used for the packaging. The efficient manufacturing process produces very little waste and the shoes are of course 100% vegan.
