Vegan Shoes by ekn

The name EKN (pronounced e-keen) comes from the Turkish word for “seed” and gives us a clue about the philosophy of the brand: achieving positive change by planting the seed in the hope that something good and long-lasting comes from it.

The range by EKN is made near Porto in Portugal, much of it by hand. Around 70 people work in the factory there, where great value is placed on good, fair working conditions. As far as possible, recycled materials and organic natural raw materials are used during production, for example organic cotton, cork and recycled synthetic materials.

The shoeboxes are made from recycled paper and the logstics are CO²-neutral. The office in Frankfurt also avoids using nuclear power, non-recycled paper and conventional cleaning products. Wherever possible, EKN tries to be sustainable, something which is necessary in a world where sustainable businesses are unfortunately not the norm.
