Infinite Running - what sounds like a dreamlike promise to the passionate runners among us is actually the bold name of a brand that has made it its mission to create a durable, customizable sports shoe.

The brains behind this ambitious project is Nico Russ, a young runner, trained construction mechanic and sports scientist from Baden-Württemberg, who runs up to 100 km per week. With such distances, he quickly realized that the current models quickly reach their limits and thus end up in the trash far too often.

Sustainability is on everyone's lips, so surely there had to be manufacturers who addressed this problem? It didn't take extensive research to realize: The project belongs in his hands. After initial attempts in the garage at home, the production process quickly took off. In the process, he relies 100% on green electricity and on complete production on site in Germany. "A shoe that covers more kilometers on the foot than it does in transport, in my opinion that's an eco-balance that makes sense!" says Russ.. In addition, the people involved in making the shoe should also be able to afford it.

Countless test runs and seven prototypes later, the first modular running shoe was born. Since the soles of classic running shoes wear out relatively quickly due to the forces exerted while running, the young entrepreneur invented the cleat-like attachments with which the expired parts of the shoe can be replaced at any time. The replaceable modules are also optimized for different running terrains. He chose High-Energy polyurethane (PU) for the midsole because it has the same level of density at every point and thus cannot be displaced in the direction of a misalignment. On the contrary, because the modules can even be adapted to the specifics of the foot through the different degrees of hardness. .

And for fans of data-supported running, there should also be modules in the future that send signals to a Bluetooth interface so that statements can be made about weight load and thus running patterns. So, we can be curious about what innovations are still waiting for us!
